Image 10.33 – Joining each section with covered ring stitched to each side.  Suspended from ring – tyvek toggle and thin 3 colour tassel. Three small pieces still to be stitched and beading still to added to complete neckpiece.

Image 10.34 – joining each section with a continuous cord.  Tassel still in place.  Could be included as part of the tie rather than this position.

Chapter Nine – revisited

004

I sent this chapter to Siân for feedback and in my evaluation I said I was not totally happy with the background.  Looking at my design source and drawings she suggested I add some shapes in the same colours but softer.  I considered cords, plaited cords and wrapped card but decided to add strips of dyed cotton stitched down with long straight machine stitches.  I laced it together again more firmly than last time but unfortunately my wrinkles are still present. I am pleased that I did follow the suggestions because the result joins the background to the central design.
